Project update

We continue to carry out studies for the EIS

Piambong Wind Farm is being progressed as a State Significant Development and will be assessed by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI).

As part of this process, a detailed EIS is being prepared. The EIS helps guide how the Project can be delivered in a way that respects the local environment. To support this, a range of environmental and technical studies are currently underway.

Our team is currently carrying out flora and fauna surveys, as well as detailed visual impact studies. Cultural heritage surveys have also recently started. These identify and record areas of cultural and historical importance and are being led by experienced archaeologists alongside Registered Aboriginal Parties.

We’re committed to protecting cultural heritage and will continue working closely with Aboriginal stakeholders throughout the planning and design of the Project.

It is anticipated DPHI will place the EIS on public exhibition in early 2026, giving the community a chance to review it and make submissions.

Project design

The Piambong Wind Farm design continues to evolve as we carry out our environmental studies and hear from the community and other stakeholders. Our timeframe has been adjusted so we can conduct additional investigations to comply with the NSW Government’s new Renewable Energy Planning Framework, introduced in November 2024.

We’re using the results of our investigations to help shape the layout, and are in ongoing discussions with stakeholders, experts, and government agencies. We will share an updated wind turbine layout and overall Project design with the community before DPHI publicly exhibits the EIS.
